UNITED METHODIST WOMEN
The UMW will meet on Tuesday, February 14th, at 9:45 a.m. Following the meeting, lunch will be served. All ladies of the Church are invited.

On January 9, the UMW officers for 2012 were installed by REV. MARK WOODWARD. Serving as President (for the second time) is SANDRA BRAUN on the left. Other officers pictured are SHARON FORBES, Treasurer; MARILYN BAUER, Secretary; and DIANE DISRUDE, 1st Vice President. The theme for this year’s meetings will be “Growing the Fruits of the Spirit”. Each month, members will bring a piece of fruit for the bowl in front of the officers’ table, and after the meeting, the fruit will be taken to the TLC Food Pantry.

Pictured on the left: SANDRA BRAUN recognizes JAYNE BROWN as the 2011 Christmas Angel. Each year the recipient of this honor is presented an angel pin and $100 is donated to the recipient’s favorite charity.
Purpose of the UMW
The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
The UMW stresses the need for prayer. Members are asked to pray daily for our church, our nation, our families, our youth, ourselves and for our community.
A member of the United Methodist Women is one who commits herself to our Purpose and chooses to participate in meetings, prayer, giving, study, action, and/or service. The organization celebrates an inclusive membership and welcomes all women who want to be members.
The organization is a community of women who nurture and encourage one another in their spiritual growth and personal development. One becomes a member by committing to be a part of this supportive community of women and by accepting the challenge to grow in mission and to participate in life-changing experiences.
