Welcome New Director of Youth and Children's Ministries

Briana McCord

Hi, First United Methodist Church of Willis! My name is Briana McCord and I am very excited about serving as your new Director of Youth and Children’s Ministries. To tell you a little about myself, I was born in Dallas and lived there until 2002. That year my family moved to Palestine, TX. We then joined the First United Methodist Church, where I was active in teaching Children’s Sunday School, Children’s Church, VBS games, and participated in the church’s growing Youth Group.

I began attending Stephen F. Austin State University in August 2007 and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Film Studies December 2010. While at SFA, I was active in the campus Wesley Foundation where I served on the Student Council as Assistant Worship Chair, led a Small Group, worked as the first Benefactor Relations Intern, and led several bible studies. I continued to work with my home church as a Youth Group Sponsor for trips and events. After graduation, I coordinated activities for FUMC Palestine. All of this work with children and youth led to a desire to serve in ministry and has brought me here!
