In January, children’s Sunday School will begin a unit on Friendship.  They will explore tools, techniques, and resources needed to develop good friendships as they learn that:

They will learn the story of Jonathan and David's friendship and that being a faithful friend means being an encourager in difficult times, understanding and respecting boundaries, and forgiving when a friend lets us down.

The Bible story reference is 1 Samuel 18:1-4 (CEV)

We will talk about and learn the following Bible verses:

Jonathan thought as much of David as he did of himself.  1 Samuel 18:1, (CEV)

Love others as much as you love yourself.  Matthew 22:38, (CEV)

A true friend is closer than your own family.  Proverbs 18:24, (CEV)

A friend loves at all times.  Proverbs 17:17

Parents -  please help your children learn these verses.  This is a very important and interesting unit with many activities to help your child learn.
