TLC FOOD PANTRY:

Every Tuesday, FUMC Willis mans the local food pantry in Willis.  Between 25 and 50 families are served every Tuesday.  Please continue to bring non-perishable food to Church every Sunday. 

SCHOOL BACKPACKS FILLED WITH FOOD:

Bi-weekly, Rev. Mark Woodward gets food from the Montgomery County Food Bank to fill 40 backpacks at Parmley and Cannan Elementary Schools for students who might not have food over the weekend.  Soon, he may be getting food for another 20 backpacks to be delivered to C. C. Hardy Elementary School.

COUPONS/CAN TABS/EDUCATION LABELS:

· COUPONS are collected to give to military families.  Please bring only MANUFACTURER coupons that are CUT OUT and NOT EXPIRED.  Coupons for individual stores CANNOT be used.

· CAN TABS are used to give to the Ronald McDonald house to help offset their expenses when families have to stay there when their children are getting cancer treatments.  Please bring can TABS from ANY drink or food product (example:  soup cans, pet food, soda, etc.)

· EDUCATIONAL LABELS that are on food products such as cereal boxes, Campbell’s soup cans, etc.

· A suggested way to help in this area is to place a box at your place of employment and ask your co-workers to contribute coupons/tabs/labels.  It can be your way to help reach out into the community and let people know what our Church is doing and how they can be a part of it!

LOCAL REPAIRS:

Any FUMC Willis members. who are disabled or incapable of making needed repairs to their home and need repairs done, please contact Rev. Mark, Larry, or any member of the Outreach Committee.  The United Methodist Men have volunteered to work with our Outreach Committee to make home repairs that are needed to enhance the safety, security and well-being of our members in need.

MILITARY CARE PACKAGES:

Care Packages will be sent to those FUMC family members in the military for whom we have addresses.  You can help by providing items to fill these, help pack the boxes or provide the name and address of military family.  Please contact Maribeth Start at dstart4@gmail.com or call her at 409/504-2087, with the following information: your name, phone number, what you will provide and branch of service and your relationship to the person in the military.  Suggested items:  Beef Jerky, Nuts, Gum, Candy, Cookies (indiv. pks.), Cereal packs, Chips/Fritoes, Hand Sanitizer, Baby Wipes, Chapstick, DVD’s, Deck of Cards, Dominoes, Visine, Foot Powder, Dental Floss, Crossword Puzzle Books, Individual packs of drink mix to pour in bottled water, Individual packs of Kleenex, Current newspaper and Nail Files/Emory Boards.
